I remember going through a fiasco with replacing ram at one point in the past. But I'm wondering if there's anything I need to configure in windows 7 before installing and replacing my old ram with new ram?

Wouldn't think you would have problems, unless you install the wrong type for your motherboard.

Make sure you shut down your computer first... don't go into hibernate.

Windows packed a sad for me when trying to resume from hibernate after upgrading my RAM. It did recover OK on a subsequent boot, but, it gave me a bit of a fright at the time :-o
