Do printers leave dates on photos?

I have a Kodak ESP 5 AIO and I wanted to know if my printer left micro dates/paper trails of when it was printed, where it was printed.

I am slightly paranoid and hate the idea of anyone having a photo of mine that had a secret date hidden in the picture for the FBI or something.

I read an article once where they talked about this and the answer is yes. Every printer leaves information in microscopic dot format on the print that can be retrieved by forensics.

    Greetings...

That's a scary thought: I've been working with computers and electronics for 40 years, and the spectre of printers passing hidden information has never occurred to me...

I know that you can wipe the EXIF, etc., data from graphics files - could there be something you could decompile in the printer drivers or software that would prevent the 'microscopic dot format' from taking place?

    Yikes!

Mostly it has to do with using modern printers to counterfeit money. I would suppose if it were possible to get around the safeguards present day counterfeiters would already be doing it, so I bet it is possible. But short of programming your own printer chips (and possibly whole boards) I don't see how YOU could do it. Software will not do it, and I never heard of hacked firmware for printers but you can google it.
