Do you use Google Toolbar & Desktop?

I am thinking of uninstalling them.

I use Ad Muncher for pop-up blocking and site blocking, and it gets every single type of ad and it's the best type of software of it's kind that I have seen.

What do you use for pop-up blocking? The reason I am asking is because I have to use Internet Explorer. My preference is Firefox and I usually use Firefox (like right now) but I also have to use Internet Explorer about 25% of the time.

    That looks neat.
    I can use that sometimes...

But there is a program that I have to use that uses IE, and it is not possible to use FF within that in any way because it is standalone.

I don't need the Google Toolbar, so I've never installed it.

I did use Google Desktop for a while, but it became resource hungry, so I removed it.

If you need a desktop search engine, I was told that this one is better than Google Desktop.

I hate toolbars and instant messengers in all their incarnations. They tend to seriously slow up machines, at least the bad ones do. Google seems to have gotten worse lately, they want to install upgrades and updates without asking.

Instead of IM, I use chat rooms. Same thing, but totally under my controls, IMO.

One exception, Major Geeks now has a toolbar that I'm trying out.

It is pretty weird how Google toolbar is being bundled in with so much software.
I have no idea why they insist on doing this. Sleazy

If you have IE7, I've found its popup blocker is fine, for Firefox the one mentioned by Lev is superb.

WHY.. well it helps keep free software free in many cases as the developer will want some sort of monetary return on his hard work as many users dont voluntarily give dontations to Devs of good freebies. If the software that has a Toolbar bundled with it, allows you the option of installing it or not and makes this very clear, then its good practice, if the software doesnt give you the choice and hides the option to not install then, I tend uninstall never to use it again.
