Don't have control of my machine? Hijack log

Please install HijackThis as the instructions in step 7 request. You installed it exactly how we specify not to install it.

What about Bitdefender....did you try running it? Your HJT log indicates that neither Bitdefender or PandaActive scan were downloaded.

Is the below supposed to be a firewall?
C:\PROGRAM FILES\FILSECLAB\XFILTER\XFILTER.EXE

Based on what little you have provided, you are not having malware problems.

 

Yes! You still have it wrong. You have it here: C:\DOWNLOADS\HIJACKTHIS.EXE

That is not a good location because you will probably download lots of tile there. Put it where step 7 indicates (this is also where the author recommends putting it) and that is C:\Program Files\HJT\HijackThis.exe

On Windows 98 system there is no such thing as requiring administrator priviledges. All users have the same settings so it does not make any sense getting that message.

You need to download and run CounterSpy as the READ & RUN ME indicates and you must attach the log from CounterSpy. You HJT log is not showing any signs of malware. Perhaps you are no having malware problems at all and are just having issues with the software you have installed. Maybe it is all related to the firewall you have installed.

 

This has nothing to do with SpywareBlaster. According to an Internet search it is a firewall. Did you install it? If so, why don't you know what it is? If is does not work properly, you should uninstall it and reboot, and then reinstall. If it still does not work, you should get a different firewall to use.
