    Vista... help!

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Windows Vista Home Premium, Service Pack 1

I had 3 trojans on my computer which I discovered yesterday morning, I ran my AVG free edition and it detected and 'healed' the objects, I then downloaded and ran the upgraded full version of AVG and did the exact same thing.
Every time I open up I.E (I've also downloaded and tried it with FireFox) I can go to some sites but not all, when I type something in google to search the computer doesn't do anything. I tried to do a system restore but unlike Windows XP when you do a system restore it doesn't come up with a calender so you can pick your dates, I could only go back half an hour :x
When I boot up my Laptop it comes up with the following message:

    'Error Loading C:\Users\Dave\AppData\Local\Temp\rqRJArpQ.dll

The Specified module could not be found'

I ran another virus scan on my computer this morning and it didnt' find any infected items, however I can't seem to get my computer to work as it normally did.
Also I have windows vista home premium installed when I got the PC. I don't have the disk because I got it as a gift with it already installed, and now every time I boot up the PC it's saying 'This copy of Microsfot might not be genuine, activate now' When I click on active it shows up saying the Product ID is invalid or something...

I've tried to run a Registry Mechanic from PC Tools but it keeps 'unexpectedly stopping'.
My I.E used to open up by itself and open up about 12 tabs, messages used to pop up that look like normal windows messages saying your computer is infected, or you may have spyware on your computer. I didn't click on them, just shut them down. Oh and I can't download anything from the internet either.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

This is a topic you should post in the Software Forum.

Registry Mechanic is not what you should be running if you have malware problems. Did you buy it? Perhaps you need to restore whatever you removed with it and maybe you Windows Licensing issue will go away.

For malware issuues: Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.

I keep getting told from different people what to get, where to get it and I think my head is going to explode. :)

Thanks for the help and replying also, I'll try downloading and doing a malware scanner thingy.

I did download HijackThis and I ran a log for it which I still have saved, but to be honest all I see is numbers it doesn't mean anything to me.
