I have a new win xp pc, with a cd-rw and a dvd-rom, I was trying to install a printer when I realized it wouldnt read the cd. So I looked at the device manager and found out both of them have a yellow ! mark next to them, status saying "Windows cannot load the device drive for this hardware. The driver may be corrupt or missing. {code 39}.
I havn't deleted anything to make this happen, so what is wrong. they both were working.
Does any one have a simple solution for this problem before I go bonkers?
    Thanks............ :)

Try deleting both devices in Device Manager and rebooting. Sometimes this fixes the problem. If it doesn't then the registrey may have to be edited. Hope this helps. :)
