I recently purchased Sprint's Mobile broadband service for my home computer b/c I live in an area of dial-up only service. It is wonderful. However, I have the 40mb download per month plan and was told that with normal web surfing it is fine. My first two weeks Sprint has record of my downloadng 243,000kb. I have only downloaded a known 12,000kb plus my 250kb antivirus updates. I was told that I had a virus or spyware that was downloading info every time I logged on. I have two firewalls, Microsoft and Nvidia. I have run two spyware scans (I know they are not perfect) but come up with nothing. Could this really be spyware or maybe a progrm I have on my computer that is doing this downloading? I did a reformat of my hard drive and now only have the Sprint service on my computer. There has been no download activity since this, but not sure if it is b/c I removed the offending spyware/virus or the offending program. Any suggestions? Please!!!

    Hi Jess1rph!

If you reformated and reinstalled, then you would have cleared away any malware. Please look at the thread How to Protect Yourself from Malware because it will give you some good ideas how to keep further malware away.
