drive with unsupported format

    Hello All -1st posting to software-2nd posting to this forum--I'm uneducated in computers so please keep answers uncomplicated--eMachine with windows xp home edition--been viewing dvds using LG Power DVD with no problem until lately--Been getting the msg drive with unsupported format in D -- Been viewing rental DvDs with no problem until this problem started showing up-- How do I fix this problem?

    So everytime you insert a rental DVD into the player that message comes up?

    Then something must have changed for some reason ....go into device manager and right click on the drive / properties and see what the settings are ...

    "Dear TimW, this morning for reasons unknown the dvd played at least once when I tried it-in other words a dvd disk was recognized by the player- when it does not recognize a dvd as being in the player- PowerDvd states unsupported dvd in D -also window media player also states no disk in player when this happens-- why the computer recognized the manufactors dvd this morning and not last night I do not understand. I am a computer illerate so please have patience with my lack of knowledge. Thanks"
