Drivers for Realtek RTL8201CL

Hi Mel and welcome to the forum.

Just a quick question, do you know which motherboard or chipset you have? you can find this info out by downloading this software ( its free ) http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4181.html and once installed and run click Computer > Summary and under Motherbaord it will tell you Maker and chipset



I could guess as this is one motherboard maker who lists that Realtek LAN chip on their motherboard ftp://download.asrock.com/drivers/ULi/LAN/Lan_XP64_MCE_XP_2K_ME_98(3.50).zip but I would rather be 100% sure the one I suggest would work.

I should have also asked what model HP/Compaq you have as some newer ones are aimed with the hardware directly at Vista only drivers, but going on the Nvidia chipset used this should be the driver pack you need http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_nf4_winxp32_8.26_11.09.html
