Drivers have Never Been Updated

Hi, I did one of those driver scans at driveragent.com and the results showed that 45% of my drivers need to be updated.

I have had this dell pc for about 2 years now and I have never updated any drivers. I'm not having any major problems, I was just curious and ran the scan.

I have noticed that my dial up connection gets dropped frequently now. It used to be that it would never get dropped at all. Anyway, I thought the modem may need a driver update. Thats what lead me to do a scan. The results did show it needed an update, as well as 45% of the drivers.

I guess I'm looking for the free, safe & easy way to update drivers.

Is there a freeware program that can take care of all this, one that makes backups of current drivers, locates and installs new ones etc.?

I am not familiar with this stuff & I don't want to mess things up.

 

The easiest and one of the safest ways to update drivers is through Windows Updates. On the right side you'll see Optional Updates and under that is Hardware Update. This is where you'll find newer drivers. I believe that XP backs up the drivers automatically, but if it doesn't, try these:
