I just purchased an Acer 19" LCD very sweet monitor, though I don't think I'll buy an lcd again. Like the look of the CRT better. Anyhow, I always used dual monitors before the lcd and now when I try the crt becomes the primary monitor. I can force the lcd to be the primary but then my icons are messed up and dragging anything to the secondary monitor is all backwards.

Am I correct in assuming that since they are two different monitors that I will not fix this issue? I did run the lcd with the vga port and all was fine except for the screen getting very glitched until I cut the power to it and turned it back on. Any suggestions?

You can drag the order in which the monitors appear. For instance, note the two screenshots. Then dragging won't be backwards.
