dvd drive and cd burner gone

    My Dvd and Cd burner appear to have disappeared. I have gone into device manager and neither of them are listed. I have also gone into bios and reset defaults and they still do not show up. I checked the cables and they seem to be tight. Any other ideas on what I could try to get them working again. They have power cause at bootup they light up so dont know what the problem is.

    Try one of them at a time with different data & power cables until you narrow down to the problem drive. Also, set them as master & slave with the jumper caps in the back.
