[You're burning the avis out as a data disk?
You're reading them in the same laptop?
    You can directory the disk?
What happens when you double click on the file on the PC? on the disk?

Check the firmware version via NeroTool and see if there is a newer firmware on Toshiba's site.

    Hi

Just in case you have this issue of Upper and Lower filters run the fix HERE, as it tends to affect users if they have installed and uninstalled various applications that have burning capabilities.

If the Automatic FixIT doesnt work then try the manual fix in editing the registry.

    Dear foogoo,
Yes, to all, yes, I can directory my disk, no probs with double clicking the file on c drive, all open ok, but the d drive just won't read anything I've burnt, will only play dvd's., no reading of data or avi files burnt. Yea, I do suspect foul play with other software... thanx, 'll try your link, much appreciated, will let you know.

I'm checking around a sbest as I can, seems to be a problem with Nero 10, others can't read, and on recollection, Nero did change a lot on this computer when first installed.... took it off as I could do what I wanted without it, - now can't read disks.

Try a different burning software. I know I had a lot of trouble with Win7 when it first came out until the various burning softwares were updated.

Give CDBurnerXP a try. See if a data disc burned with it can be read.

Thanx very much, Sach2, I'll give that a try. Reading around, looks like it was Nero 10 that changed some configs, now can't get that back again, (configs) certainly give this one a try. , microsoft link didn't work, and if all else fails i'll just get a 5oogb or 1 tb usb and be done with it!
