DVD playback frame freeze/skip

    Hi

    My DVD player has started experiencing frame pauses and sometimes one second skips. I tried several disks and I'm pretty sure its the player. Does this mean the player laser needs to be cleaned or that the player is slowly dying?

    It is possible, but in my brousing, this has been found to happen when too many background programs are running -before thinking of replacing, it could be worth trying to shut down as many background operations, as you can.
