dvi-d to component

    i just bought a 17" widescreen lcd monitor and i noticed that it had dual input, and i was using the vga input and the other input was dvi-d. i want to hook up my ps2 to my new monitor, but i dont have a dvi to component adapter. i do, however, have a dvi-d cable and a component video cable. how can i hook together these 2 cables because i dont really want to spend 20 bucks on a dvi to component cable when i can just do it myself for free
