running win XP home version w/ SP3
    updates regularly.
for months when I open any folder, and when I left click ANY folder I get the following popup.

Windows explorer has encountered a problem and need to close
    AppName: explorer.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.5512 ModName: divxdec.ax
    ModVer: 7.0.0.31 Offset: 00069ba9

    E:\DOCUME~1\MRS~1.MOO\LOCALS~1\Temp\947e_appcompat.txt

    can't actually find this file...
I did earlier this hour , follow instructions on how to disable DrWatson.
Still getting dwwin.exe shut downs and I think more so since DrWatson is out of the way.
    I did make back up.

But BOTH programs cause shut down of all folders and reboots explorer.
    Help?

Re: DWWIN.EXE Explorer encountered a problem and need to close, when any file is open

Try opening a command prompt and type SFC /scannow
Note the space before the /
If this doesn't work, do you have a repair/restore disk or a recovery partition. From either you can try a system repair, shouldn't affect your data, but of course you've got that all backed up right?;)

    You can try this program too;

    http://majorgeeks.com/download4899.html

    Set a restore point first.

What security are you running, antivirus?

    Found my CD...
I get a notice telling me the cd is the wrong on e or another windows product.

    restore point...
    there should be one.
And I am using AVG full version.
