Ok, I am really new to this forum. I have tried everythng I can think of to correct this. I know just enough about computers to screw mine up really good, I have diligently attempted to correct whatever has flipped out on this "new" tower I now own. Here is everything I including the flippin error at the bottom, any & all help will be appreciated. Oh & ccleaner locks up on mui, will not go any further........................ Try running memtest 86+

Run this memory checker for a few passes, 5 or so. Any errors, then it is your ram.

 

Ok memory checker how long should it take to run this program? I also put the original memory--256mb back in still get the error mentioned in the original post, the error comes up when son tries to play Maple Story online. I can't get the memtest 86+ to run it just keeps installing & with no floppy drive installed that option is out. BTW there isn't a person I talk to that I don't send to your site or recommend you guys to, your off the charts, awesome.........Is there anyway someone could break down exactly, the error code by each line, that has depleted my supply of exedrin..........Thanks again in advance, CRSW

 

Hmmm, well the guy that sold this thing to me sold the business & was apparently in the process of doing so when he sold it to me. The "new" owner claims it's a hard drive error, talked to me like I was an idiot. Wanted to know if I had tried to install a floppy drive & accidently plugged it into the hd slot---duh---you can't...claims to be very experienced with computers, that last one makes me doubt it very seriously..... I bought this less than a month ago & if someone could send me a link to look up the entire error code I would be forever indebted... Again Thanks in advance for any help, CRSW

 

I noticed that you are running only one stick of ram, with ddr two sticks will let you run in dual mode, will handle things a little more efficent. ed

 

Thank you for replying to the problem I have posted. I will get another stick of memory & I have also checked every single error in the event log & applied some of the remedies that were listed there, whew!!!, what a task. The memory scans I did show no errors with the memory. Well guys the O/S was corrupt from jump major missing dll files & it wouldn't let me install them so I reformatted, took 3 tries, added another stick of memory, runnin 2g now, & installed a floppy drive. Thank again for the help, you guys ROCK!!!!!!, CRSW
