Error number: 0x800704DD

Hello,
I am running Windows XP with SP2 and IE7..Only recently did I realize an error with windows updates ! The update page loads but
I can not " review your update history " I get Error number: 0x800704DD
I have automatic updates ON but I do not think I am getting them...
I can not do an express load of updates,I can not do a custom load
or get the new Microsoft update page to download,
Always error number:0x800704DD
I have been reading posts on Microsoft.com and doing many suggestions which have not helped, for weeks.. like..

In which I must add \SensLogn to my registry since it did not exist.
I am not comfortable playing in the registry. I have read a great deal here about ....it can be fixed with a registry cleaner...but which one & is that necessary...my comp. runs fast, no crashes, very clean as I run spyware all the time....no problems except this error which seems to be an ongoing problem on Microsoft.com but no fixes....Please HELP

 

You need to run some scannings. SAS & MBAM are recommended here for extra malware checks and removal. Full scans:

It is fixed !!!!! You must create the key within the registry if it does not exist...If you are not comfortable doing this or like me it would not go in the Notify area...as stated in the fix page....

Then Call...1-866-PC SAFETY it is free for Windows Update issues...They will create the key for you and place it in your registry...Then re-start your computer and all is well !!!
I am already running Malwarebytes and SUPERAntiSpyware as suggested in my welcome email, but I Thank-you for your help.
