ethernet controller no driver installed

I accidentally deleted my ethernet controller during system defragmentation. Now I can't connect to the internet. Where can I find a download to install a new ethernet controller or ethernet driver? I use windows xp professional. Its amd athlon 64bit.

I just want to connect to the internet again and am so confused with what I need to install. I just keep finding video drivers, etc.

Can someone please help so my wife will get off my back?

 

What's the make and model of the computer? Once I know that I can point you to the correct networking drivers for your system

These are the most common, just pick the one that is relevent to your Operating System i.e.....1) Xp. 2) Vista. 3) windows 7
