    Hi!
I downloaded a program mentioned in another thread.

    Everest Home Edition
    http://majorgeeks.com/EVEREST_Home_Edition_d4181.html

I'm just wondering at what high temperature setting do I become concerned? New to this stuff, just curious. Thanks!
    :D

Mine Currently - According to Everest
    Temperatures
    Motherboard 42 C (108 F)
    CPU 57 C (135 F)
    Aux 39 C (102 F)

    Sorry, I should have worded that as;
    Are my computer temperatures ok?

What's the highest safest operating temperature? (Due to lots of user time, hot weather, etc.). Is there a general guidline as to how hot before the computer experiences problems?

I'm not familiar with computer settings, just want to know if my cooling fan is working ok while I'm still under warranty. I'm just curious and trying to learn. Thanks!

    Hi!
I appreciate your reply. I found this information and did a "copy" and "paste". Does this help you out for information? Let me know where to go if you need anything else, ok?
    Thanks so much!

    PS
I don't really understand this stuff, so please bear with me.

Ahh, I've been wondering the same thing for some time. I have this program (from the motherboard manufacturer) that automatically shuts everything down if it gets too hot. I haven't seen it in action yet (not hot enough here yet).

Anywho, I've heard that some people use their computers as effective heating. (I'll try that next Winter).

    lmao
I was looking for ways to try and cut down the upcoming Winter heating bill! It can get pretty cold here in Canada, eh? Must keep the igloo warm.
    :p

What's that program called? I wonder if my computer came with something like that? Good to know! Thanks so much!

    Hi!
    Thank you!

I found the following, is this the correct information that you'd like?
    Pentium 4, 2.4 GHz, 1 GB RAM

So, is "Prescott" a name for the processor? And what is a "Maxtor"?
    Just learning the ropes.

I have a similar system running temps very close to yours.

    CPU 45 to 55 C
    MOBO 35 to 37 C
    HDD'd 45 to 50 C

I was surprised how hot the HDD's ran, CPU I could understand.

What component exactly is "AUX"? Chipset or Video by chance?

A "Maxtor" is the name of your hard drive. :)

Thanks so much to everyone that has replied and helped me out. I'll relax now.
Jerkyking...... I haven't a clue as to what "AUX" means, lol.
    :p

Awesome site for all, no matter what your experience is.
    With many thanks and appreciation,

AUX is typically auxillary. With sound cards, it could be a second device. In this situation, Aux could be a secondary sensor. Typically the MB.
