I have Exchange Server 2003. I am looking at replacing many copies of Microsoft Office with Open Office 2.3. However, OO does not have an email client. I need one that will work within my LAN, no outside contact. So, it has to use MAPI (I think). Is there anything on the Open Source horizon?

Mozilla Thunderbird - free, and works with Exchange server.

However, TB doesn't have a calendar built in. So, to avoid irritating your users, you might try Evolution which is a freeware clone of Outlook, but I'm not sure how well it works on Windows.

I downloaded Thunderbird. I will give it a try. Calendaring is not an issue. Thanks.

Well, it installed alright. I copied all my Outlokk folders over. Now, before I can send an email, I need to set up an email account. I can't figure out how to do it. It seems ot only want POP or IMAP addressing. I have Exchange Server. It uses MAPI doesn't it?
