I have a 320 GB Western Digital Passport that recently just went bad on me. I want all of my data back or about 1/2 of it at least. I have all my photography photos and designs on there and its time to build up my portfolio again. Darn it! So what are my options? I want to try fixing it myself with utilities and what not, but I dont really want to send it into a data recovery service because I'm thinking it will cost me big bucks.

So, again, what are my best options besides sending it to a data recovery service?
