External drive virus

Hi,

two months ago my Comstar external hard drive started showing an error message every time I tried to open a folder in it, the error is shown in attachment 'error.jpg'. I thought it was just a hard drive crash, but I finally decided to do a bit of research and think it could be connected to a malware issue. I previously used the drive on an XP system, and now I have a new Windows 7 system.

The hard drive capacity still shows the same amount as before, but the size of the folders are only a few kb, and I get the message: "Windows cannot find 'E:\recycler\csrss37.exe.' Make sure you typed the name correctly and try again."

After temporarily disabling AVG 2011, combofix said that AVG was interfering and it wouldn't run. So I tried to uninstall AVG and it kept telling me that watch dog security wouldn't allow the uninstall to complete.

Should I run combofix and post the logs or should I start the whole process over again?
