Failed format, now blank screen after post!

any hope for this? My pavilion notebook had unrecoverable disk errors so I decided to format and reinstall xp home, 6 hrs later it was stuck at 19%, I shut it down and now it goes to dark gray after the post screen, no cursor, nothing, cd spins up fine but I can't get display, external monitor no good either. Only thing I can get to is the bios :confused

 

in the bios, did you reset to factory defaults?

 

yes, would taking the bios battery out help maybe?

 

Sounds like you might need to find a hard drive, try to get to boot menu, and pick cd-rom and try another install, if that wont work, my guess would be hard drive is locked up. ed

 

I think I tried that already, rats.
