failed security update windows XP

    For many months I have been unable to install "Security Update for Windows XP (KB946648). When I go to MS updates and click on the red star for information on this update, I get a blank screen. Any ideas? All the other updates have installed.:confused

    I found an answer in "Windows Security update won't install". I was able to download to desktop and then install without a problem. Thank you all for "being there."

    i had a simmular problem when i had installed a vista program which needed to add net 3.5 files and i did noy have net 3.5 in a cab file so updte couldnt find it
    using win xp
