Fake Adobe Flash Player

Good evening, I have missed everybody. I have a question.

The computer has been running very well, thanks to you.

My question is about this fake Adobe Flash Player update that keeps popping up. I call it "fake" because this was how all my troubles began. So, when I see it again, I don't trust it, I just reboot the computer and it goes away.

If I have cleaned out all the malware and have recently run a scan on the computer (about an hour ago) and nothing has been detected, why does this Update thing keep showing up, especially since the computer is now protected?

The legitimate Adobe Flash Player installer/updater will show up from time to time when there is an update available. It does update quite often due to some malware coders using flash player as a means to infect users.

I understand why you are hesitant though since this is how you got infected last time.

If you want to turn off the automatic updater portion and check for updates manually, you can do the following:

• Go to the Control Panel (Start -> Control Panel)
• Find Flash Player and click it once to select it.
• You should be presented with the below configuration window:

• Go into the Advanced Tab -> and select "Never check for updates".

Then on your own time, check the following page from time to time to find out if there is an update for Adobe Flash Player: Adobe Flash Player download link
