    Hi All,
Any ideas as to why i get these weird colors when i play
    Far Cry ?
I have a Radeon X850XT Platinum card with the latest Catalyst
    Control center drivers.
Im just replaying the game but it also used to happen when i first played
it months back with the older drivers.
Its nothing major and it only happens intermittently and does not affect
    the actual gameplay.
Id just like to know why it happens more out of curiosity :)
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

How long have you had the card?
Are you overclocking or have you before?
Do you have any other Video Card to try and see if it stops?

Guess i have had the card about a year now.
It came in the system when i purchased it.
As for overclocking no i havent.
I do have a duplicate system but i wanted to
see if any one had any ideas on this before i
    started swapping out cards.
The pc that this happens on is just used for games
so i have a few installed on here,UT99,2003 and 2004,
    Fear,Far Cry,Quake4,Doom3 and Doom
3 ROE,Call of Duty 2 and all of the Medal of
Honour series and i dont have any problems with any other games.
Whilst playing today i went up to a vehicle which was colored as in
the image above and switched the torch on and it showed up as normal
almost as though the game lighting was not being read correctly

The reason behind those colours is an error with the HDR (high dynamic range) rendering. Your card does support it, but it seems that either your drivers are having trouble with the game or you are using a bad setting of HDR. Is the version of your game 1.3 or greater?

If so try bringing down the console and typing

    \r_hdrrendering #

    where # is a number between 0 - 11

0 will turn off HDR and should fix your problem. Try 2 or 7 though as they are the most compatible versions of HDR.
