FarCry is kicking my butt.....need some help

I am pretty far along in the game. Blew up the factory with the girl, woke up in some helicopter and the guy kicked me out. Now I have one gun and ten bullets. Get past the first monster and jump over a huge waterfall. To many monsters at the bottom waiting, get killed almost instantly each time.

Can anyone give me some pointers on this level?

Problem with that walkthru is it only goes to the Bunker (section labeled G) then stops. I gotta find a way to get thru the Dam level. It's brutal

 

There's a downed helicopter by the beach with a couple of working mini-guns in the doors. Get to that & shoot up everything that comes near.

 

thanks GT. Made it past that, up the hill, thru the gate, drove the buggy....jumped off, killed everything in site. Made it over the next hill and to the top building. Now I gotta make it past all those guys. It keeps getting harder and harder LOL>

 

ok...now I have to go after the guy that has been helping in the game the entire time. get outside, in the volcano, and dont make it to far and dead each time....rocket monsters everywhere....ugh...any tips?

 

To be quite honest you're at the point where I decided God Mode was the best solution and Googled up the cheats for the game. The rocket packin gorillas are more than a pain. And it gets worse in some places.

 

I did it all in Veteran difficulty mode without cheating. Bow down to my l33t game-playing 5k|11z!

 

You care to share some tips on completing this level? I refuse to cheat, there has to be a way to get thru this level without cheating.

 

The rocket monsters at the beginning of the map should be avoided if they're fighting against marines.

To deal with all the other rocket mutants, just keep moving left-right all the time and pick them off from a medium - long distance with whatever takes your fancy. It doesn't matter how long it takes so long as you defeat them and they can't harass you anymore. Sniper rifle shot to the head seems to work well. ;-)

To deal with the big boss, just duck down behind the desk and pick off all the other monsters first, then when he moves round the desk to attack you, keep behind cover and lean round a few times to shoot him. If you get enough shots in on him, he will jump up onto some higher platforms. Just keep leaning out from cover and aim for his head to kill him.

 

How do you get past the boat? I've done everything I can think of. I can't kill the dude or the heli......HELP......I'm drowning AGAIN!!!!

 

the top of the boat, even thought its very early on, is one of the toughest battles in the game.

first things first... take that chopper DOWN. it will take a few deaths to get his rhythym, but throw your m4a1 into single shot, and snipe the gunner in the chopper.

once thats taken care of, get rid of the guy in with the minigun on the platform on the other side of the ship (opposite the chopper). the rest is just a slaughter

I beat that game on Realistic first run through... shame on you G.T!

oddly enough at the point that Bluesman was talking about, they didnt give me much trouble. nevertheless... stage 3 crygens... ewwww

 

A trick to beating the helicopter on the boat level is once you get to the ladder that takes you up to the top, back track. The helicopter will follow you down to the second or third level, this way you can fight it alone.

 

i am playing the demo and it seem s ok. is it worth buying the full game

 

its the best game i have played from start to finish. graphics are amazing, gameplay is great and never runs out of surprises. and the story, is arguably a little lame, but i think it works very well for the style of the game.

the only downside i have seen so far is online play. I like it... but its rare to find a server without much lag, and 90% of the people are horrible and accuse me of cheating which i dont, cuase cheating ruins the fun.

 

I own this game too. I never did beat it, though. I got to the point about where BluesMan is, but just pretty much gave up and got into playing Hitman: Contracts. I always wondered if the guy that helps you all through the game... I had a feeling from the very beginning that he double crosses you and turns out to be a bad guy.

I don't suppose any of you would like to share? Most would just say if you want to see the ending, beat the game! I will eventually, but for now, I don't mind the ending being ruined, as the story line wasn't ever that interesting to me. I just want to know if that guy stays true to the end.

 

I am not giving any spoilers so you won't find out from me if the guy helping you turns on you or not.

A few hints that may be helpful or not.

1. Aim for the head as much as possible. Avery weapon from a pistol to a rocket launcher does 4 times as much damage if it hits your enemy in the face.

2. When fighting the rocket weilding monsters etc. Keep a good distance and watch when they fire and use the strafe key to side-step out of the way. A good idea is to keep a large rock or small hill between you and them because they tend to aim low but don't get too close to the hill or rock or you can get caught in the blast.

3. All the time monsters are fighting against the marines, they are not concentrating on you. This gives you time to pick your targets but try to take out the hardest one first two onto one kills them quicker. Don't wait to find out who wins first or you'll have more trouble than you can handle. Marines can be killed with a single sniper shot to the head. The enemy (both monsters and marines) can only concentrate on one target at a time, usually the last one to shoot at them. Keep this in mind when they are shooting at each other and time your salvos accordingly.

4. There are always audio clues as to what is around the corner or through the next door. Wait a while and listen instead of just running and seeing what comes at you, not all audio clues are immediate and some may not trigger until after you've been listening for a few seconds.

5. Monsters don't care who they shoot at. If one hits another, they will fight it out between themselves. Deliberately creating a crossfire situation will take their mind off you for a while. Only the marines are a bit more intelligent (quite realistic really cos they are only marginally more intelligent No, strike that. Real marines always shoot at each other, only they call it "friendly fire". Bit of a contradiction in terms if you ask me..... ).

As for Bosses. Take your pick and use whatever method suits you best. There is no easy way to defeat them, I tried the trick of hiding behind the desk as @undesirable suggested but got blasted by several grenades thrown behind me and then found that the hit&run tactic suited me. If you can get upstairs into the room on the rear left as you enter the level, you can hide and snipe from there but it's real hard.

I have finished it and all I will say is that I was completely disappointed with the lame ending.

 

yeah, but it certainly leaves it open for a killer sequel
