Fedora 4 Linux Question

dumb question of the day....

i'm running Fedora Core 4. previously i was running FC1. in FC!, pressing CTRL+ALT+F2, would bring up the black and white, Terminal/Command Line screen. however in FC4, when pressing these all i get is black nothingness. How much more black could it be? The answer is none, none more black.

am i missing something? could it have been an installation problem? other than that it seems to be running perfectly, just a slight annoyance i suppose.

if there are any Linux folks floating around, i'd appreciate any help you can give me.

I haven't installed FC4 yet, but it appears that libvgahw.a is broken in FC4, and that replacing it with the FC3 version fixes it. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=161242
