    Hey all,
i just accidently deleted a dial-up connection icon from the network connections folder and do not know the details to reinstall it.
It did not go to the recycle bin and wanted to know if there is any way of getting it back!!

    Running WindowsXP

the reason behind the deletion is cos i was on my bosses comp at work.
They have broadband there, so i deleted the dial-up network connection thing cos i didnt think my boss uses it. Any i found out it is used so he can connect and work form home using pcanywhere as he also has dial-up at home.

So there in case lies my problem.

Neither do I for that matter, now that I am awake - what about a recent system restore point? That might put it to rights, as long as the boss hasn't changed or added any programs recently . . . but it may be hard for Bakertronics to determine that, since it sounds like he doesn't want the boss to know . . . that and his boss may have that turned off the restore feature (I do).

nah the boss knows less about computers than me, and is amazed with anything i do even tho a poorly trained monkey could do it.

So i sont have to be secretive about it.

I think i may just blame it on him.

Boss: "Why cant i log on from home anymore"
Bakertronics: "Cos you looked up porn in office hours and therefor deleted the settings. Thats what i told your wife"

ok, back to solving problems, should we?
first, if your boss is simply trying to "connect" from "home to work", your work station does NOT need dial-up connection setting. Unless if you're talking about "PCAnywhere".
If your boss is trying to connect "work to home" with PCAnywhere, then your solution is pretty simple.
If you uninstalled PCAnywhere, reinstall it.
if you deleted dial-up connection for him to connect to his home computer, let me know and we'll go over that.
As you mentioned, since your company uses broadband, I'm assuming that your boss's PC still have Internet connection?

    No problem.
Is it safe to assume that was an old Dial-up setting?
