Firefox crashing on form entry

My Firefox (2.0.0.3) randomly crashes sometimes when I try typing into a form, like the one here to post a new message.

Let's say I came here to start a new post. I'll get to this screen and click on the message area to start typing, but as soon as I hit any key Firefox freezes for a split-second and crashes. I can usually recreate the problem several times in a row: start Firefox, go to form, type, crash, start Firefox, etc. Then randomly it will work fine again, such as now where I'm typing fine. The error message isn't helpful as it just says there's an error with firefox.exe.

(As a sidenote, I've noticed that even if it doesn't crash, Firefox also sometimes has "movement" problems with forms: like I'll click in the message area after having typed and pressing arrow keys won't move the cursor anywhere. To move it around, I have to click where I want it to go. Odd.)

Has anyone come across these problems, and knows of a possible reason and solution?

If ye have any plugins installed, remove them (or disable them) and try again.
