Firefox's Flash Player issues

Firefox's Flash Player keeps performing illegal opperations, and causes Firefox to crash shortly afterwords. Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a fix?

 

See how you by by reinstalling the flash player.

 

Already tried that, didn't help any.

 

What version of Firefox are you running?

Also, what extensions are you running?

Does IE crash also?

 

I am using Firefox version 1.5.0.3

The extension that I have installed are:
DOM Inspector 1.8.0.3
Talkback 1.5.0.3
Duplicate Tab 0.7.3
Stumble Upon 2.61
Magic: the Gathering Toolbar 1.2 available at my deviantART here
ColorZilla 0.8.3.1
Adblock v.5 d3 * nightly 42
Adblock Filterset.G Updater 0.3.0.4

As for IE, I have no clue. Is this really pertinant?

 

Yes, does flash work fine in IE.

If it doesn't, then this is not related to FF only. Just would like to know. This is not a workaround. I will not state that you need to just use IE for flash.

As a side note, are all those extensions up to date?

Try disabling ALL your extensions. Do you still have the same problem?

 

IE doesn't crash, but flash files won't work.

 

did you install flash for IE, if not install it and try it again, we have to know if it works fine in IE, go here to install flash for IE make sure to uncheck the yahoo tool bar box http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash
also be sure that your using IE when clicking on the link.

 

Flash works in IE, but still crashes Firefox.

 

Some users fixed similar problems by deleting the file getflash.exe from the Firefox Plugins folder. This is located in the Mozilla Firefox folder in C:\Program Files. It was said to be an autoupdate file, not needed for the functioning of Flash. This fix didn't work for everyone who tried it, but it's worth a shot.

 

I tried deleting getflash.exe, but it didn't make a difference.
