    Hi!

    First of all, thanks to MajorGeeks for all the hard work you guys are putting into helping other people, it just is amazing!

    A quick word on my problem; Flash videos and animations are slowing my computer down a lot, and this applies on every browser. At first I tried reinstalling Firefox, then flash. I then removed all my add-ons for Firefox but I noticed that it was slow on IE and Chrome too. So I gave up on that track.

    Firefox demands a lot of memory no matter how many times I'll reinstall it (with a flash video playing, it goes between 95 and 100% of memory usage)

    I ran all the programs (logs attached) but it didn't change much. I think it's going a little better, but I can't say for sure because my computer is getting slower as time goes on;

    When I boot the PC, it will run Flash animations/videos properly for an hour or two. At the end of the day though, it will be very sluggish.

    I should also note (if this is of any help to you) that on Firefox, I couldn't click any of the links on the MG step by step help. Here is a screencap of what I did see on Firefox;

    As you can notice, links are missing. I followed the process through Chrome.

    Thanks for your help,

    AdBlock is what is stopping you from seeing the links. Either whitelist MG's or use IE.

    We still need the logs from running C:\MGTools.exe ---> C:\MGLogs.zip

    I am not seeing any malware in your logs. I suggest you post in the software forum to further pursue this.

    If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:

    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no real time protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /uninstall
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /uninstall, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.

    3. Go back to step 6 of the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    4. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    5. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    6. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    7. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    8. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    9. If you are running Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures pointed to by step 7 of the READ ME
        for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.

    10. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

    I'm currently looking into this on the software section. But I have a problem since I ran the ComboFix.

    To make it short, I have 2 different O.S (XP and 7, I know it's a bad idea but I didn't chose it) and I had to choose at startup wether to boot on WinXp or Win7.

    When I ran ComboFix, it installed the recovery console and it added a new choice in the boot selection at startup so I had

    Earlier Version of Windows (<- this is WinXp)
    Windows 7
    Windows Recovery Console

    Since then, I can't select anything but Windows 7 and can't access Win XP anymore.

    I was always using XP, ran the test through XP and didn't really care about Windows 7. I don't have any other choice than using Windows 7 now though since XP doesn't work anymore.

    Uff this is complicated. Anyway, have you ever heard about this?
