Flash Animation

I am trying to view videos on www.about.com I can see them on other people's computers but not mine..... I contacted personnel from that website and their answer was to make sure I had enabled flash animation for my browser or spam blocker.......how do I do this? I have internet explorer 7......adobe flash player, windows XP....not sure what other information you need......???
I tried a suggestion from previous similar threads about QuickTime but that didn't work....

I wasn't able to see anything in FF but I fired up Opera and the video played. It is Adobe Flash v 9. http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/
Go here http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ to see what version is installed on your computer.

I was able to view a video in both Internet Explorer 7 and FireFox 2.0.
Both browsers have Adobe 9,0,28,0.
I'm looking through my IE settings, don't know what to look for, but hoping to find something that may help ya.

 

I know what my problem is in FF after reading the plugin FAQs at Mozilla. It seems like Quicktime grabs everything from adobe flash; that's why it won't play. I don't have quicktime installed. I have QT alternative. I don't want to remove QT alternative so if there is something in flash I can't see, I'll fire up Opera - that's my workaround.
