Flash Player

Hello, I have tried twice to install Adobe flashplayer from site listed on your support/download page

I get this error: Error 1722
There is a problem with this windows installer package A program as part of the set up. Did not finish as expected contact your support personnel or package vender.

Action new custom action location: ...\Installax 11_6_60...

Need some information on how to correct if possible. No use to conact adobe that have a support forum thats hard to get to and then if you do supply the information they need, could not find a way to get back to them.

Try this:

Download the Adobe Flash Uninstaller.

Read the step-by-step instructions here:

After reboot and verification that Flash is gone, install the >> latest version again.

 

You can always try to download the installer(s) directly from Adobe http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player...ms-flash-player-windows.html#main-pars_header.

If you still get problems, can you post or attach the FlashInstall.log file?

 

The install error 1722 can happen with any program.
If you are running a 64 bit version of windows, you can try this Fixit.

Hello, sorry it has taken me so long to reply. I was able to uninstall flashplayer.
However when I attempted to download the current flashplayer I got this message:

The user does not have sufficient privileges to install adobe flashplayer.
Don't know what I need to do at this point.

Run as administrator.

 

To make plodr's post a little bit more explicit: download the offline installers from my earlier link and save them to disk, then close all browser windows, right-click on the downloaded installers and select Run as Administrator.

I have spent untold hours searching for a solution to a problem that appears un solvable. Microsoft sez they are working on it- Adobe forums are not even current - I can't play videos- no sound and constant buffering when opening new web pages- I'm ready to scream.. can I go back to some older versions of flash and IE and get sane again??? thanks for your help.
