Floppy Drive

    Ok, my floppy drive keeps freaking out....

    i'll on online....or offline....just playing on my PC and the floppy disk drive will either start freaking out and grinding..... or start reading for NO REASON...

    i know my dad frigs around with it and uses the floppy disks....

    but what is causing this?

    i caught him removing the disk while it was still reading once....and then it started grinding... but why does it randomly read?

    The floppy drive should not be randomly reading... How old is the drive? It could be going bad, which is not a big deal since a new floppy drive will cost about $5-10. I'd suggest just going to your local computer store and picking up a new one. Or there is one @ Newegg for $9.99 and free shipping
