Floppy makes buzz noise

I have XP Pro upgraded about a week ago,all works good. My floppy drives makes a buzz noise about every 15 mins. or so. It's not my anti-virus program doing it so what could it be. It seems like something is checking something on the floppy drive. I always run all my spyware protection and anti-virus,what could this be.
HP 775
XP Pro
512 Mb Ram
40 G Hard Drive

 

Does it happen in Safe Mode?

I hav'nt tried that,I would have to get in safe mode and wait. You see after you boot up all is working just fine. About 15 mins. or so you get that little buzz and the light at floppy blinks once. Something is checking on the floppy drive and its not my anti-virus program. I have no other program that I can think of that would check my floopy driver. Still need help,

 

15 minutes isn't so bad. Please let us know how it works out.

 

Hi,I tried a couple of these tips on this link and I have not heard a peek out of my floppy yet. All is working fine now,thank you for your help anyways.
