Folder opening on start-up

Hi all,

I've had this problem for sometime now, and can not for the life of me find any cause or cure.

Every time my machine starts up, after all my software has loaded, my 'User Folder' opens, (at least, I think that is what it is called: it's the folder that contains my 'Cookies', 'Destktop', 'Start Menu' and 'UserData' folders etc...).

Any ideas how to stop this happening? It's seriously bugging me now.

Click Start>>Run>> type msconfig
System Configuration Utility window will open
Click on Start-up panel

Look for that folder, then uncheck the box that corresponse to that folder

I've never known a folder to show up msconfig. An .exe from the folder yes, but not the folder itself.

Might be more along this lines of this:
Start / Run / Control Folders / View ...
Uncheck 'Restore previous folder windows at logon'.

Unfortunately, it is not listed in the 'Start up' section of msconfig, and 'Restore previous folder windows at logon'. was already unchecked!!

Any other ideas anyone?

 

mmm..I've checked those locations in the registry, and it all SEEMS to be in order. But to tell the truth, I'me not entirely sure what to look for.

Most of those locations have an entry of:

(Default)
Reg_SZ
(Value not set).

Does that seem right?
