Formatting an additional harddrive

I just built my computer (yay), and it has two harddrives (don't ask). Anyway, the one (the master)was set up and I was then going to do the other (the slave), but I got distracted when the video card flipped out. I want to format it now, I'm using Windows 2000, and I was pretty sure they would tell me on start up that it would need to be formatted. Everything is plugged in and all, but I'm not sure. Should I just go to "Add Hardware?"

Disk Management... Windows has Disk Manager doesn't it? I can't remember, but go to Control Panel and see if you have Administrative Tools... it's in there. If not there, check in the C:\WINDOWS\System32 folder... all programs that are not visible from the desktop or any other user interface will be found there.

All you have to do is select the drive (if it even shows up) right click or go to actions menu and select format. It'll run a wizard and walk you through.

Yes the steps outlined above should get that drive formatted....

Is the jumper on that drive set to slave?

Does the drive show up when you enter My Computer? if so right click it and select format.

If it doesnt show up their then right click My Computer and select Manage ( that will take you to the Disk Management T-Rex was refering to ) and does it show up in their as your 2nd drive and does it say "Unallocated" below its storage size if so you may need to Intialize the drive right click on it and in the menu will be Initalize then you should be able to format it.
