free as opposed to $............

    ...after a discussion with a friend I decided to throw this out here. Is this a fair general description.........The main diff between free and charged anti-malware,adware,and virus software, is free is manual operation and charged is auto?

    No! Free versions do not necessarily provide you any support and may have a reduced feature set. But for the most part they are fully functional programs.

    Well phooey, I was wrong again. Actually I knew they were reduced feature in many cases. Had forgotten. Thanks for reminding me. They are still better than the wallet wrenching kind.
