I want to thank you for posting that link Tuesday. I wouldn't have known about the free ForceField offer if I hadn't seen your post at the last minute before going to bed.

I used to use the ZoneAlarm firewall (free version), and a month or two ago I heard about their new upcoming product, ZoneAlarm ForceField. I'm glad I have the chance to check it out now, and for free too! :-D

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but has anyone tested this product for themselves? I'm curious as to what everyone has to say about it. Only con I've heard so far is that it slows browsing.

I don't know much about it myself. Try a google search for "ZoneAlarm ForceField"

It might be somewhat over-hyped. It sounds like it's not perfect, and has some drawbacks. Although it still might have it's use, when combined with other security programs.

I'm not sure how trustworthy the below articles are. For one thing, I don't know when the finished version of ForceField came out, they may have been reviewing beta versions.

    :(
    Some comments I've seen posted:
My personal experience: Severe Brower slowdown...it didn't play well with my combination of Comodo's Firewall Pro and BOclean <---which got shutdown and NOT by me. I un-installed ForceField within 1/2 hour of installation. *I do admit to needing more RAM installed on my machine.

    PS: You're Welcome, tech. ;)

I had the same issue... Comodo going absolutely crazy (even in installation mode and etc.), and Windows was continually telling me that it needed to shutdown the following programs (Firefox... the ONLY program I had open, I even had the Vista Sidebar closed). I have 1.5GB RAM. Anyway, yeah... wasn't too impressed, I uninstalled it as well.

Oh well, I can't complain... got to try a paid product for free. :)
