Free ways to tune my PC up enough to play skyrim?

So I have skyrim, and it lags like a mofo on sunday .

Let me clear some stuff up, I have Gamebooster running, I have my registry cleaned, my hard drive checked for errors, my performance plan on high performance, my nividia graphics set to high performance. I have checked for viruses with Malwarbytes, and cleaned anything that came up.

I have set my virtual memory to 20 gigabytes.

I have 523 gigabytes of space left.

I have upgraded my power supply to a Dynex 400 watt.


I can't spend any money, so I was hoping for something like a virtual graphics card, or overclocking my processor.

Sorry, all that you have done is not going to help, neither the 400W power supply. Look at the recommended specs here. Reduce the video card's parameters.

I have everything set to max performance and skyrim on low and it still lags, any tips? Perhaps you know of a Virtual Graphics Card that will work with skyrim?

Like they told you on the Gamespot forum, there is no 'virtual graphics card' solution to your problem. You need better hardware than you currently possess to meet the minimum requirements.
