freeze when windows appears

    Hello
    When I use F2 or F8 and I have my pc password protected, I have no problem.
    When I use a password, and windows appears with the use of these two keys, there is a freeze. Example, to get into safe mode or system I have to remove the password and when windows reappears it is ok. With a password(under usersin the control panel) the pc freezes so I have to hard boot.
    Any clues?
