Freezes while trying to log on from standby mode

    For some reason my computer doesn't want to log back on after being from Stand By. Can somebody tell me why that is? Thank you in advance!

    IT happens ... because Windows & hardware vendors never got ACPI right.. my new laptop does the same thing.

    Although in re-reading your statement you said you cannot 'log back on', so the PC does wake up and the cursor never appears in the password block? (on XP home?) .. that happens to PCs here at work also .. never found a fix.. sry
