Everytime, well since yesterday, i run a virus scan my computer freezes during the scan and a red bar appears at the top of my screen and flickers for a bit then my computer will restart and run sort like normal but i dont know if it is to do with it as well, but the virus scanner does its Auto-protect thingy and internet protection thingy and they are viewable in the tray but they are no longer veiwable and the Auto-protect is listed as being Disabled and it will not enable as well.
My virus scanner is Norton Anti-Virus 2003 + Internet Security (2003) and i have updated the scanner as much as humanly possible so its not like i let it become out of date or whatever.
My MSN Messanger is also not working at the moment and i havnt asked anybody else whats happening to theres but this has happened before, it doesnt sign in it asks to troubleshoot but when troubleshoot starts it says "We are temporarily unable to troubleshoot your connection to the MSN Messenger service. Please try again later. " and i also can not sign in to hotmail as well so im hopeing that this is a problem on there end. it is a problem on there end isnt it, please say it is. My computer is really anoying me.
If anybody can help that would be really really good.

First, please follow ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal
If you already have any of the programs linked in the tutorial please double check your version to make sure you have the latest one and that you have any/all updates for the programs.

NOTE: In order to resolve the issues you are having it is very important that you at least try to perform all the steps as outlined. If you have any difficulty please post back letting us know what steps you have completed, what you found while doing the scans if anything and details about any problems you have encountered in completing the steps. The more details you can provide the better.

After doing ALL of the above if you still have a problem:

Make sure you have HijackThis 1.99 and follow the guidelines on where to install it and how to post a log as an attachment. This is all covered in the sticky thread NO HIJACK THIS LOG FILES BEFORE READING THIS: HJT Tutorial & LOG File Posting

Now post a HijackThis log as an attachment to your message (Do not post the log inline). All running programs should be closed, including your web browser, e-mail. Close before running Hijack This!

To repeat: Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file. Place it in its own folder, for example C:\Program Files\HJT

OK! Complete the READ ME steps and if still having a problem, follow the HJT log posting guidelines and post one accompanied with an explanation of your problems.
