Fresh install- what to load

I just got my grandma's pc, I am in the process of re-installing windows. She does not have anything worth saving, so a clean install will be faster than finding the problem. What programs should I install to help prevent a disaster from happening. I plan on using NOD32 for the Anti-virus, A router for firewall+windows built in. Will load Himachi and remote Administrator for me to help/fix problems remotely. What else should I load onto the pc for protection? When I got the pc, it had 1 new login plus the guest acct. active!!! the cmd line had some wierd stuff also written into it. AVG resident shield was disabled at her house. I could only log in with Safe Mode. When you logged in before it would say "logging in" then change to "logging off". I would just like to prevent this from happening again, as I can not stop in once a week like I would like to! Thanks for the help in advance, also free programs would be nice, but not required.

I got it good now, also put on process gaurd to monitor the pc.
