Fresh XP install, USB drivers wont install

Hey all,

Long story short im reinstalling XP on a machine for a client,

Did a fresh install, was about to install all the drivers and updates from my USB but windows will not even attempt to install the flash drivers, ive tried 2 usb flash drives and nothing is working.

I know its not the USB ports failing, as i unplugged the keyboard and mouse ports which i know are working, but it still fails (the light on my flash drive doesnt even flash)

Also went into device manager and unchecked all the USB root hub power saving options to off (turn this device off to save power)

Any suggestions? cheers

I am not sure if this will solve the problem since this is a new installation but you might want to try this fixit.
