A patent made public on Friday reveals Apple's development of a bicycle with Wi-Fi, audio, video, and more.

The bicycle is Apple's new platform for showing off its iPod and iPhone technology. On Friday, the US Patent and Trademark Office published a patent application from Apple that revealed a project to build a "Smart Bicycle System" that could measure speed, distance, time, altitude, elevation, incline, decline, heart rate, temperature, weather, wind speed, and more.

The Smart Bike would use the iPhone's accelerometer and gyroscope (which record acceleration and altitude, respectively) to convey information to the individual cyclist. Built in Wi-Fi would allow--in what could be a landmark moment for the sport--communication between teams of riders in bike races.

Though the patent was just made public two days ago, it was filed last year, according to Patently Apple, a site that provides the incredibly-specific service of reporting solely on Apple patents.

For some people 13 is an unlucky number.

St John Ambulance volunteers improved the luck of a 13-year-old boy when they treated him after he was struck by lightning - at 13:13 on Friday 13.

The boy was struck at Lowestoft Seafront Air Festival today, Firday 13th, and it was only while the ambulance team was treating him that they noticed the time - 1.13pm.

The unnamed buy suffered a minor burn and was taken to James Paget Hospital, where he is expected to make a full recovery.

Two other people have been treated at the event today for lightning strikes - they were all holding umbrellas at the time.

STOCKHOLM (AP) — WikiLeaks will soon publish its remaining 15,000 Afghan war documents, despite warnings from the U.S. government, the organization's founder said Saturday.

The Pentagon has said that secret information will be even more damaging to security and risk more lives than WikiLeaks' initial release of some 76,000 war documents.

"This organization will not be threatened by the Pentagon or any other group," WikiLeaks founder and spokesman Julian Assange told reporters in Stockholm. "We proceed cautiously and safely with this material."

He said WikiLeaks was about halfway though a "line-by-line review" of the 15,000 documents and expected to publish them within weeks. Assange said "innocent parties who are under reasonable threat" would be redacted from the material.

Why you should drive it:
There are a lot of Lamborghinis, so why the Lamborghini Countach? I guess because it’s my list and I am a product of the 80’s and this thing screams “I love the 80’s”. Just about anyone I know loved this crazy looking car and many had a poster of it. It’s tough to get in and out of, rides like a tank and really isn’t all that fun to actually drive. Visibility is awesome, but only if you’re looking out the windshield. Nowadays you have onboard computers, great handling, horsepower galore, USB, navigation and more. You can drive today’s sports cars to work if you wanted to. But the Lamborghini Countach is everything the 80’s was; expensive, impractical and brash. And I want one. You will need about 100,000 to pick one of these up.

The force of the crash broke the car into three pieces and Brennan was ejected.

Just updated my Smart Defrag, thank you Geeks, saw: Advanced SystemCare Free (formerly Advanced WindowsCare Personal) and I am going to give it a try. Looks like you recomend it! I'll be back if it dosn't help. I've been having some problems (heat related I think because they are problems in the mid day heat, 100 to 105'F in here, morning and evening seem to be fine) Just shut it down during midday heat?

Solving the Rubik's Cube while skydiving

Speedsolving the Rubik's Cube while freefalling from 4300 meters, sitting in a rubber boat. This is the first attempt and worked really well - I solved the cube in about 31,5 seconds. I started right after exit and was finished at about 2500 meters. At 2300 meters I accidentally slipped out of the boat.

The skydive was videotaped by five cameras (two on-board, three outside the boat).

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- A would-be burglar who tried to break into a South Carolina restaurant found himself in a tight and a greasy situation. The Post and Courier of Charleston reported a man tried to break into a North Charleston restaurant by climbing down a grease vent. He got stuck and had to wait almost seven hours until he could be freed.

North Charleston Police said the man was discovered shortly before 5 a.m. Monday when an employee heard someone calling for help. Police arrived to find a foot dangling in a vent above a stove. :-D
