Core Temp is a compact, no fuss, small footprint program to monitor CPU temperature.

The uniqueness of it is that it shows the temperature of each individual core in a each processor in your system! You can see in real time how the CPU temperature varies when you load your CPU.

Intel and AMD recently published detailed, public information about the "DTS" (Digital Thermal Sensor), which provides much higher accuracy and more relevant temperature reading than the standard thermal diode sensors do. (How it works).

Nigerian scam tops list of decade's online cons
e-mails from deposed Nigerian princes asking for help in getting lots of money out of their country. But that's just one of several scams that made Panda Security's list of the most frequent online cons of a decade.

As 2010 starts to wind down, the security vendor on Thursday unveiled its rankings of the most widespread Internet scams from the past 10 years. Though the cons themselves may vary, the pattern is typically the same, according to Panda. Cybercriminals initially contact their victims through e-mail or a social network, asking them to respond back by e-mail, phone, fax, or some other means. The crooks will then try to gain the trust of anyone who swallows the bait, eventually finding some excuse to request money.

The seven scams ranked by Panda included the Nigerian con at the top followed by a variety of other favorites.

BURR OAK, Mich. -- A man gathering sweet corn in southern Michigan is the latest to have an unexpected encounter with an alligator. The animals have been showing up far north of their traditional habitats this summer. Jeff Adamski of Burr Oak said he was picking corn near the Michigan-Indiana border when two women who were a few rows over came running and screaming, saying they had seen an alligator.

Adamski told the Sturgis Journal that the alligator darted toward him and kept coming as he backed away. Adamski moved faster, but then he began to worry about a child being attacked by the nearly 3-foot reptile.

Just under two-thirds of all Internet users have been hit by some sort of cybercrime, and while most of them are angry about it, a surprisingly large percentage feel guilt too, according to a survey commissioned by Symantec.

In a cybercrime survey of just over 7,000 Internet users in 14 countries, researchers found that 65 percent of Internet users worldwide have already been victims. In the U.S., it's 73 percent, but things are worse in China (83 percent), Brazil (76 percent) and India (also 76 percent).

Those results stood out to Norton Internet Safety Advocate Marian Merritt, who tracks this type of data for a living. "What we were really surprised by was, first of all, how common it was that people are being victimized by cybercrime," she said.

Another surprise: how victims react to being hacked. "People do fee angry, but we also found that people feel pretty guilty," she said. "54 percent said they should have been more careful, when they responded to online scams.

Comcast was forced to shut down its email servers entirely after being hit, a spokesperson said on Twitter. "Apparently, this virus (if you click on it) will pooch your PC if you shut it off if you're infected," she added.
"Good Morning America" weatherman Sam Champion was among those affected at ABC. He posted a message on Twitter that said a "huge email-spam-virus" was "filling up" his ABC News email account.

Automatically, after whether the copy origin and copy destinations are HDD according to same physical HDD or is judged, it operates as follows.

-Diff HDD: Reading and writing are done with the MultiThreading in parallel.
-Same HDD: Using big buffer, reading until the buffer becomes full, and writing in bulk. Because Read/Write doesn´t use the cache of OS at all, other processes (application) do not become heavy easily.

-Read/Write performance is a near the limit of the device. Include/Exclude Filter (UNIX Wildcard style) can be specified.

In some simulations, this led to Uranus crossing the path of Saturn, which could then have flung it towards Jupiter, which lobbed it back to Saturn. The process might have happened three times before Uranus was finally ejected beyond Saturn, to where it now resides. Hurling Uranus would have caused Jupiter and Saturn to recoil, further shifting their orbits.

SYDNEY (AFP) – Australia's original TV crocodile hunter Malcolm Douglas, whose hit Outback documentaries foreshadowed late global star Steve Irwin, has died in a car crash, reports said on Thursday.

"Barefoot bushman" Douglas, 69, who overcame cancer and numerous filmed brushes with deadly wildlife, ploughed into a tree in a large animal sanctuary he established in remote Western Australia.

Douglas's exploits were watched by millions of Australians, though he was overshadowed in recent years by Steve Irwin, star of the "Crocodile Hunter" adventure series who died in a freak stingray accident in 2006.

"I'm not fake and I don't pre-plan takes, it's all real," Douglas said in 2009. "There's no helicopter on standby if something goes wrong. In places like the Kimberley one mistake and you're dead."

Microsoft continues to push that it's not essential for businesses to wait for SP1 and IE9, but to deploy now and roll out these updates later, when they are released. Microsoft explained on The Windows Blog why users shouldn't wait for SP1 or IE9 to upgrade.

This gives an estimate of when a final IE9 release is expected, since Windows 7 SP1 isn't due out until some time in the first half of 2011, but no specific date has been announced. A beta of Service Pack 1 is currently available.

The Boring Home: Aaron and Christine Boring of Franklin Park Pa. claimed that Google Maps' Street View feature violated their privacy, devalued their property and caused them mental suffering by posting images of a private road in front of their house. The Borings said that the images of their home must have been taken from their long driveway, which is labeled "Private Road."
