Game Res Too High

I have just installed "Dark Messiah" and the res is too high for my screen (as my screen is complete wank), and i can't change it because i can't select anything in game...is there a way to change graphic settings for a game without actually loading the game up?...if so, how?

 

Not sure about this, never encountered it before. Try right clicking on the icon for the game and try running it in a window as opposed to full screen.

I have that game. The only thing I can tell you is to get a better graphics card. O and to read the system req. on the box before purchase.
